LOOKING FOR A PROJECT?

Currently Arizona is one of only four states in the country that does not require schools to vision screen children. Our Legislature is contemplating passing a bill to change this. If this were to happen, this would be a great opportunity for Lions Clubs to volunteer with their local schools to take on this effort as a service project. This would not only build their image within their local communities and provide a new service project to attract volunteers; it could also provide the opportunity to assist needy families with exams and glasses.

Arizona Lions Vision & Hearing Foundation is proud to announce our Vision Screening program to assist clubs in building their own Vision Screening projects. We can assist clubs with ideas on how to work with their local school district or pre-schools, training on State of Arizona standards for screening, training for Certification as a State Certified Vision Screener and training on use of the SPOT equipment. We have 7 SPOT screening devices, two are with the South Tucson Lions, one is with the Casa Grande Lions, one with the Flagstaff Lions and the 4 in Phoenix are ready to lend to qualified clubs for use in screening. We can also provide assistance on advertising and promotion of their club vision screening project to build their image in the community and attract new volunteers.
If your club has an interest in starting or enlarging a vision screening program, please contact us at 602-954-1723.
I Rosa G, mother of Jesus H, am sending you this note to thank you for the financial assistance provided to my son with the purchasing of a new eye prosthetic. We are very grateful to you and I am very happy with your foundation, that thanks to this and to you, I was able to receive this great help towards my son.

Now my son is very happy, and so are we. My son’s happiness is our happiness. For this and much more we will forever be grateful to your Lions Club Foundation and I hope that the type of assistance given to my son could be provided to more people who really need it. Thank you is an understatement to express my gratitude for what you did for us, may you and the Lions Club Foundation continue to be blessed.
